![]() I installed Image Scan! for Linux from, which told me "Could not send command to scanner. Some other things I did that didn't help, even with the laptop disconnected from the LAN: I downloaded and installed the Epson scanner drivers from. Preferences still showed the HP that I had previously used, but not the DS-510. Sometimes when I disconnected the DS-510 the Epson all-in-one would disappear from the preferences list, so I thought maybe the two Epson scanners were getting confused. That means the scanner is OK, the software is OK, the USB is OK, but they don't work together. I have an external drive and a mouse connected to the laptop via USB and they're OK. I connected the DS-510 to a Windows XP machine with Epson Scan installed, and it worked, but I want to use the laptop. I actually did a few scans with the HP but it was too slow. Preferences showed two all-in-ones on the LAN, an Epson and an HP, but not the D-510. It worked before, maybe under a different version. ![]() Linux Mint 17.3 64 bit, xfce desktop on an eMachines E520 laptop.
